How to Clean Plastic Cutting Boards


Cutting boards tend to be a harbor for pathogens and germs. It is important to clean your chopping boards every time you use them in order to prevent the growth of microorganisms on your board.

Cleaning a chopping board simply:

  • It is easiest to run your chopping board through a cycle in the dishwasher. Dishwashers hot water temperatures combined with the dish washing detergent are great for killing the harmful germs.

  • If you don’t have a dishwasher the next best option is to do it by hand.
    Simply wash the board in hot water using dish washing liquid.

Sanitizing your cutting board:


1. Using a scrubbing brush apply a mild solution of clorine bleach (1tbl) and water (1 lt) directly to the surface of the chopping board.
2. Let the damp surface air dry on its side.

How to remove stains from a plastic chopping board:

soak your board overnight in a mild solution of chlorine bleach (Clorox) and water. Rinse in water and allow to air dry.
