How to clean lunch boxes

A particularly dirty old lunch
First toss away last terms sandwich and shake out any crumbs. Make a solution of hot soapy water in a separate container, use a sponge and wash the inside of the container. Take care not to use an abrasive to clean the lunch box. Rinse the sponge thoroughly under running water intermittently as you go along.  You can also rub grime away gently with a tooth. Finally once you are satisfied the lunch box is grime free rinse in warm clear water and dry with a soft cloth or leave to air dry thoroughly before storing.

Soft-sided lunch bags or boxes
First wipe the inside clean with a damp cloth or sponge. If you are cleaning up a spill, use a cloth or sponge that has been dampened in a solution of dish washing detergent and hot water – then allow to air dry.

Hard plastic or metal lunch boxes should be washed daily after each use.
Using a sponge wash the container in a solution of a little dishwashing detergent and hot
Water. Rinse in clean water and leave to dry.
